Who I Work with

I specialize in trauma and the various ways traumatic experiences present themselves in your current life.

When surveyed, 100% of my previous clients shared they felt the therapeutic space we shared was judgment-free. I am committed to creating an environment where you feel brave enough to share your authentic self. My goal is to accompany you in moving toward a life of vitality and joy. There is no “getting rid of” trauma, but strength and examination can help you transform it. I hope we can do this together.

My specialization spans across a myriad of symptoms and experiences such as depression, anxiety, grief, loss, PTSD, sexual assault, intimate partner violence, divorce, relationship challenges, chronic illness, loved ones of the chronically ill, disordered eating, religious/spiritual trauma, identity, and adoption, to name a few.

No two experiences are the same, nor are the symptoms that follow. I use my expertise to create a care plan uniquely for you. I welcome individuals of various ages, genders, children 10+ years, and members of the LGBTQIA+ community.

“Trauma is not what happens to us, but what we hold inside in the absence of an empathetic witness.”

- Dr. Peter Levine

How It works

1. Book a Consult

For us to make real progress together you should understand if you feel safe enough with me to do the courageous work you’re setting out to do.

I offer a free 15-20 minute consultation in person or online for us to get to know each other and for you to ask any questions before committing to becoming a client. Book here.

2. Intake Paperwork

If you decide I’m the right therapist for you, I’ll get you set up with intake paperwork and forms. This is the nitty-gritty part- you will consent forms for therapy, receive a clear outline of your confidentiality and write your basic history to give me a snapshot of who you are and what brings you to our work together.

3. First Session

This is a getting-to-know-you session, we take everything at a pace you are comfortable with. I learn more about what brought you into therapy and what your goals are.

My approach is to be a co-creator of your wellness. In the first few sessions, we are learning more about each other and how to best meet your needs. Come as you are and we’ll take it step-by-step together.

The right fit

I may be the right fit for you if:

  • You’re looking for a relaxed, comfortable, unstructured approach.

  • You want the time and space to explore different strategies that are right for you.

  • You need sliding scale payment options for therapy sessions.

  • You want in-person sessions in Fayetteville, Arkansas

  • You would like a hybrid of telehealth and in-person sessions.

  • You are a resident of Arkansas, Missouri, or Kansas, all states I am licensed.

  • You are in search of an LGBTQIA+ allied therapist.

I may be the wrong fit for you if:

  • You want extremely structured and time-limited therapy.

  • You are looking for couples therapy.

  • You are looking for a therapist for a child under 10 years old.

  • You desire telehealth only. I ask that clients commit to in person sessions at least 50% of the time.

  • You are looking to use Medicaid.

  • You want to use insurance.

    • I can provide you a superbill and resources to be partially or fully reimbursed through your insurance for out of network providers, however, at this time I only accept direct pay on a sliding scale.

  • You are unwilling to get a little uncomfortable in the process of growth.

You wouldn’t buy a whole gallon of ice cream of a flavor you’ve never tried, would you? A consultation is like a free sample. It’s a 15-20 minute conversation that allows us to connect personally, explore your specific needs together, and determine if we are the right fit.

About Me

I’m a lifelong learner who values authenticity, creativity, connection, and people. When I’m not working, you’ll find me creating all forms of art, camping and exploring nature alongside my partner and our rescue dog, laughing a little too loudly, moving my body, gardening, traveling, going to concerts, reading, cooking, spending time with my nieces and nephews, and listening to a copious amount of nerdy podcasts and books.

Favorite books: Know My Name by Chanel Miller, The Overstory by Richard Powers, Another Name for Love by Carvell Wallace, What My Bones Know by Stephanie Foo, Devotions by Mary Oliver, Bright Dead Things by Ada Limón and anything by Dave Eggers or George Saunders.

Favorite Podcasts: Radiolab, OnBeing, This American Life, Death, Sex, & Money, The Happiness Lab, and A Slight Change of Plans.

Favorite Snacks: Iced Oat Milk Latte, cucumbers with This Dip is Nuts! (aka Bitchin’ Sauce), and  I’ve never met a potato (in any way, shape, or form) I didn’t like.

  • What meg’s colleagues have to say about her

“Meg was a bright source of light and positivity. I loved getting to talk to her about her clients and case conceptualization, because I could tell she was hungry to learn and put her knowledge to good use in being the best clinician she possibly could. She is already an amazing human, but I can say without a doubt that she is an amazing clinician as well!”

  • What meg’s colleagues have to say about her

“Vibrancy and energy are two words that describe her well. Meg brought joy and brightness to every moment of work. She was an incredibly hard worker and extremely intelligent. She was always willing to help in any way that she could. She made work feel like an opportunity more than a task.”

  • What meg’s colleagues have to say about her

"I would describe her commitment to learning as eager and insatiable. She saw her clients as individuals, but individuals that were part of a bigger picture and was always willing to search outside the box for whatever resources might benefit her clients.”
